About Merobebe

Love lifting women up and keeping it real along the way?
You’re in the right place.

Welcome to Merobebe

Hi, I’m Megumi, here to share my honest, no-BS perspective on business, life, and wine.

I started Merobebe because I was tired of stuffy tasting rooms, transactional networking, and surface-level conversations over questionable house wine. I craved real connection with women who were building bold, beautiful lives and wanted more:
more confidence, more depth, more community, and definitely more wine.

Merobebe is redefining what it means for women to connect, grow, and rise…all through the shared language of wine.

Here’s what we believe:

Women don’t need more advice.
They need more rooms where they can show up as their full selves, where ambition and femininity can coexist, and where confidence is poured as generously as the wine.

But this isn’t just about personal growth. It’s about collective impact.

When women rise, the ripple effects are profound.

  • Women reinvest more of their earnings into their families and communities.

  • Women-led businesses are more likely to prioritize sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical practices.

  • Women donate more to causes they believe in — across all income levels.

  • And women are leading the charge on climate action, from consumer choices to political policy.

In short: when we put more wealth and decision-making power into the hands of women, we shape healthier families, stronger economies, and a more sustainable future.

Wine is our invitation, but the magic is in the women who show up.

Our events, newsletter, and soon-to-launch podcast are designed to spark conversations that matter and create community that lasts. We explore the parallels between wine and womanhood, celebrate stories of rising, and create intentional spaces where growth is personal and collective.

If you’re ready to stop shrinking, start shining, and meet incredible women who are doing the same, you’re in the right place.

Pour yourself a glass, settle in, and let’s rise together — with confidence, connection, and some Carignan.

Meet Megumi Calver

Writer. Strategist. Sommelier. Recovering(ish) perfectionist.

Megumi is the founder of Merobebe, a platform that brings ambitious women together through real talk and really good wine. Designed for women to own their brilliance without apology, Merobebe is for those who take up space, ideally while sipping something bold.

Born in Tokyo and raised between cultures, Megumi learned early how to read people, unpack narratives, and understand power. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and New York University, she studied psycholinguistics and media business, sharpening her voice in spaces where excellence was the baseline. She went on to build a career helping brands do the same and now, she’s finally building one of her own.

A certified sommelier quoted in Wine Enthusiast and Forbes, Megumi uses wine as both invitation and metaphor — her answer to a question too many women still ask in silence:
Where can I be smart, unfiltered, ambitious, and seen?

Through salon-style events and a sharp-poured perspective, Megumi creates space for women who refuse to dilute themselves just to fit in. She’s not asking for a seat at the table. She’s busy building the entire dining experience.

When she’s not writing and scheming with Merobebe, Megumi is drinking something bold and red, attempting to keep her houseplants alive, and spoiling her cats more than she likes to admit.
