What We’re About

Love lifting women up and drinking (really) good wine?
You’re in the right place.

Welcome to Merobebe

Hi, I’m Megumi, here to share my honest, no-BS perspective on business, life, and wine.

I started Merobebe because I was tired of stuffy tasting rooms and stuffy, surface-level conversations over questionable house wine.

What I wanted was real connection with women who were building bold, beautiful lives and wanted more: more confidence, more depth, more community, and definitely more wine.

Merobebe is redefining what it means for women to connect, grow, and rise…all over a glass of wine (maybe three).

Here’s what we believe:

Women don’t need more advice.
They need more rooms where they can show up fully, where ambition and femininity can coexist, and where confidence is poured as generously as the wine.

But this isn’t just about personal and professional growth.

When women rise, the ripple effects are profound.

  • Women reinvest more of their earnings into their families and communities.

  • Women-led businesses are more likely to prioritize sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical practices.

  • Women donate more to causes they believe in across all income levels.

  • And women are leading the charge on climate action, from consumer choices to political policy.

In short: when we put more wealth and decision-making power into the hands of women, we shape healthier families, stronger economies, and a more sustainable future.

Wine is our invitation, but the magic is in the women who show up.

Our events, newsletter, and soon-to-launch podcast are designed to spark conversations that matter and create connections that lasts. We explore the parallels between wine and womanhood, celebrate stories of women rising, and create spaces where growth is personal and collective.

If you’re ready to stop shrinking, start shining, and meet incredible women who are doing the same, you’re in the right place.

Pour yourself a glass, settle in, and let’s rise together — with confidence, connection, and some Carignan.

Meet Megumi Calver

Born in Tokyo and raised between cultures, Megumi has spent her life learning how people connect, how stories land, and what it takes to make a room feel like something. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and New York University — where she studied psycholinguistics and the business of media — she built a career helping brands and founder-led businesses sharpen their voice and show up with intention. Today, she runs Media Kamo, her marketing consultancy, alongside Merobebe.

She holds a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with distinction and Certified Sake Professional credentials, and has been quoted as a sommelier in Wine Enthusiast, Forbes, Delish, Real Simple, Chowhound, and Food Republic.

But Merobebe wasn't built from a credential. It was built from a question she watched too many women carry quietly:

Where can I be smart, ambitious, unfiltered, and actually seen?

Through salon-style wine events and a weekly newsletter, Megumi is building the answer. A space where women don't dilute themselves to fit in. Where wine is the invitation, but the deeper currency is taste, conversation, and connection.

She's not asking for a seat at the table. She's building the entire dining experience.

When she isn't writing or scheming with Merobebe, Megumi can be found drinking something bold and red, attempting to keep her houseplants alive, and spoiling her cats more than she likes to admit.
